Tape-purchase classes
Tape-purchase classes are delivered through videotape or DVD. You purchase taped lectures from our off-campus vendor and view them week-by-week, following the instructor’s schedule. The assignment schedule is determined by the instructor, who may also require that you come to the main campus occasionally for exams or class meetings.The class schedule lists the location for tape-purchase classes as “TAPEPUR-OFF.”
Requirements
For a tape-purchase class you must have:
- A way to pay for the videotapes / DVDs you buy from our off-campus vendor. You can purchase tapes/DVDs online or by phone. If you have a Cougar One Card debit account with sufficient funds, you can use it to pay for tapes/DVDs from the vendor.
- A reliable delivery address where you can receive your shipment of tapes after you order them. (NOTE: DVD players made before 2000 may be incompatible with DVDs sold by the vendor.)
- Ability to view VHS videotapes / DVDs each week to keep pace with the course syllabus or schedule.
- Current contact information and an email address on file with the D.E. Student Services Office. (Student services staff will email you urgent information about your class whenever needed.)
