About Distance Education

About the DE Website

We created the UH Distance Education website to be fast, accessible, and user-friendly. This website should be usable on all computer platforms and in all web browsers.

Valid coding practices

The site uses valid, XML compatible, XHTML 1.0 Transitional code. .

Valid coding practices ensure the website is accessible to as many visitors on as many different devices as possible. It also creates a website that loads faster, and in many cases is easier to use.

Testing

We have successfully tested the website on both Macintosh and PC computers using common operating systems and web browsers including:

  • Internet Explorer
  • Netscape (including Mozilla and its variants)
  • Opera
  • Safari

The website has been designed to be both backwards compatible with older browsers and machines, and forward compatible with future developments in the World Wide Web.
