OK, now that you’re enrolled in a distance education class, follow these steps to make sure that you’re ready for the beginning of the semester:
1) Complete the Pathway to Distance Education, our online orientation.
2) Make sure that you use your UH e-mail address, or that your alias is pointing towards your primary e-mail account.
Students that don’t properly configure their e-mail accounts could miss critical information sent by UH.
3) Find out if your instructor is using Blackboard.
Most DE classes use Blackboard as the primary course management system. Some history classes use CourseCompass, some math classes use CourseWare, and a few instructors will simply use their own site.
4) Know how to contact your instructors.
5) Contact DE Student Services if you have any other questions.
