Master of Education in Reading and Language Arts Education (M.Ed.)

The Master of Education in Reading and Language Arts Education prepares students to be highly specialized teachers of reading. In schools across the country there is an increasing need for these specialists to teach reading in regular classrooms, provide specialized reading and assessment services to students with reading difficulties, coordinate literacy programs within individual schools and throughout school districts, and serve as resource personnel and demonstration teachers in the area of literacy instruction.

The Master of Education in Reading and Language Arts Education is structured to meet the Texas guidelines for certification in this area within the framework of the master's degree.
