The Bachelor of Science in Consumer Science and Merchandising at the University of Houston is a unique undergraduate program that teaches students consumer-oriented business practices in the fields of merchandising, retailing, sales, customer services, and public relations.
The program focuses on analyzing the consumer as a social and economic unit of society and on the process of merchandising products to consumers.
Students learn to integrate knowledge of consumers and merchandising processes and apply that knowledge to a broad spectrum of challenges facing retailers, individual consumers, families and service agencies. Consumer orientation is key to meeting the customer demand that drives business success.
