English (B.A.)

Note: This degree cannot be completed exclusively through distance education. Students will be required to take some traditional classes on campus. See below for more details.

The Bachelor of Arts in English allows students to enrich their appreciation of life, society, and culture through study. This degree also gives students the opportunity to learn about other times, experiences, people, and ideas, and thus gain a better understanding of themselves and the world.

Students in English develop critical thinking skills and learn to produce lucid, well-organized writing.

Through distance education, you can pursue the Bachelor of Arts in English with a concentration in literature. The literature concentration includes a focus on traditional British and American literature, plus English electives that cover other aspects of literary studies.

This degree is appropriate for students seeking a general liberal arts education as it prepares students for an assortment of professional paths, including journalism, teaching, public relations and the law.

Degree planning
