Event Management and Hospitality Sales (Undergraduate area of concentration)

Event management has grown into a billion dollar industry worldwide. Meetings, conferences and special events are integral parts of doing business in today's global economy. Become part of this rapidly growing and dynamic industry by pursuing a career as an event or meeting planner, a sales executive, or a related profession within the event field. The Event Management and Hospitality Sales concentration will allow students the opportunity to see if a career in event management and hospitality is the right choice.

The Event Management and Hospitality Sales certificate/concentration requires 12 hours of study. The program is designed for students to take six hours in the fall semester followed by six more hours in the spring. Classes are offered face-to-face at the UHS-Sugar Land in Sugar Land, Texas. Students in the program also have the opportunity to gain real world experience through participation in the Grand Wine & Food Affair held each spring in Sugar Land. This celebrated community event will help students put classroom learning to the test and demonstrate how an education in this area of hospitality management can lead to a fulfilling career.

Students may take Event Management and Hospitality Sales classes concurrently with classes at other two- or four-year institutions. Students can apply credits earned towards a degree in Hospitality Management from the Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management or other programs within the UH System.
