History (B.A.)
Note: This degree cannot be completed exclusively through distance education. Students will be required to take some traditional classes on campus.
The Bachelor of Arts in History provides students with the skills needed to look at the world with a deeper understanding of events and how they have shaped our society. The program offers classes in variety of disciplines including European, American, and Latin American history.
Students develop critical thinking, research methods, communication skills and awareness of cultures through history.
The Bachelor of Arts in History is appropriate for students seeking a general liberal arts education as a preparation for careers in government, administration, business, education, and law. It is also appropriate for students preparing for graduate studies in a variety of disciplines, including history and law.

Degree planning
To get started with a degree in History, you will need to meet with an advisor in the History department and declare it as your major. You will need to write a degree plan, or a list of courses you plan to take to fulfill the major requirements.
