We created the U.H. Distance Education website to be fast, accessible, and user-friendly. This website should be usable on all computer platforms and in all web browsers.
The site uses valid, XML compatible, XHTML 1.0 Transitional code. The design leverages Cascading Style Sheets to create a table-free layout.
Valid coding practices ensure the website is accessible to as many visitors on as many different devices as possible. It also creates a website that loads faster, and in many cases is easier to use.
We have successfully tested the website on both Macintosh and P.C. computers using common operating systems and web browsers including:
The website has been designed to be both backwards compatible with older browsers and machines, and forward compatible with future developments in the World Wide Web.
The U.H. Distance Education website was designed and developed by the Division of Educational Technology and Outreach. The interface and information architecture were designed by Austin Govella. Louis Leung created the graphics and illustrations, and the project was managed by Youmei Liu.
The website content was totally revised by the D.E. Student Services Office: Rahilla Shatto, Amanda Emmons, and Lorri Guegel.
Deepak Vijayraghavan and Sekhar Nagarakanti assisted with trouble-shooting and testing.
Should you have any trouble using any portion of this site, please contact Andrew Moon (ajmoon2@uh.edu).
